Bio:
Mckee Frazior was born in 1979 at Spohn hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, and has yet to reach his life expectancy. While working towards that goal, he attended the University of Texas at Austin (BFA 2002) and Southern Methodist University(CMA 2005), receiving some papers from both. He has exhibited himself and others across Texas, never receiving a citation for doing so. Under professional guidance, Mckee is currently pursuing an MFA in New Media at Texas Christian University(expected 2025). He exists geographically, mainly in Arlington, Texas, playing with drawing, software, sound, video, text, interactivity, stickers, arrays, and the space between wards.
Statement:
Mckee Frazior's work involves electric stimulation and recently missed cues. He investigates our relationship with technology, culture, and the oddly ordered chaos that ensues through interactive works. Mckee primarily uses internet-based technologies and the subsequent ephemera that sprouts from their use and abuse. Mckee considers himself a hypermedia artist. By delving into the systems we are enmeshed in, he creates spaces of rumination and reflection. His works are rarely static pieces. Instead, they are living entities that actively and passively engage the audience. They adapt and respond to previous interactions and states, creating feedback loops that make the audience an integral part of the piece's process. Themes of awkwardness, confusion, play, laughter, and mild anxiety permeate his process and output. Mckee Frazior is momentarily obsessed with QR codes and his personal devices.
